What is it used for?

How does it work?

Drapolene cream contains two active ingredients, benzalkonium chloride and cetrimide. Both of these have antiseptic and disinfectant actions.

Drapolene cream also contains a mixture of white soft paraffin, wool fat and cetyl alcohol that produces a greasy moisturiser. It works by providing a layer of oil on the surface of the skin to prevent water evaporating from the skin surface.

This combination of ingredients results in a protective cream which cools and soothes any soreness and prevents infection. It is suitable for the treatment of urinary rash, nappy rash in children and for treating minor wounds.

Warning!

• This cream is for external use only.
• Avoid contact of this medicine with the eyes.
• This preparation contains cetyl alcohol, which may cause skin irritation. If your skin becomes irritated, red or there is a burning sensation after using this cream, you should stop using the cream and consult your doctor.

Not to be used in

• Known sensitivity or allergy to any ingredient

This medicine should not be used if you are allergic to any of its ingredients. Please inform your doctor or pharmacist if you have previously experienced such an allergy.

If you feel you have experienced an allergic reaction, stop using this medicine and inform your doctor or pharmacist immediately.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

Certain medicines should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
